Fritz enjoys volunteering

Ilene Cooper, a partner at Farrell Fritz, enjoys volunteering with Suffolk Lawyers for Justice. Cooper’s many accomplishments include serving as the third woman to become president of the Suffolk County Bar Association, and being the first African-American woman to serve as president of the association. Cooper likes to break glass ceilings. She has been a board member of several organizations and has drafted state legislation about child abuse.

SLJ is a non-profit organization

SLJ is a nonprofit organization that works with children, families, educators, and community partners to eradicate systemic racism. The organization’s mission is to make the education of children and youth the best it can be. Their work focuses on the education of children, who are often the first in their families to attend college. Although public funding is available for SLJ, its academic rigor is weakened by its lack of resources.
