A class-action lawsuit involving Microsoft has been filed in the Northern District of California. The suit alleges that Microsoft has been sharing consumer data without their consent, including email addresses and names, with third parties such as Facebook. In addition, consumers can claim up to $13 for each MS-DOS operating system they have purchased, and up to $6.50 for each application they have bought from Microsoft. A settlement is expected to resolve the issues with the software company, and the lawsuit is currently in a preliminary phase.

The lawsuit has also alleged that Microsoft has engaged in anti-competitive practices, including making false statements to competitors, industry participants, and the public.

The British Columbia Court approved a settlement claims program and appointed a claims administrator to distribute the money to eligible Class Members. The case is ongoing, and Microsoft has not yet provided an update on its legal position. If you’re wondering if your rights have been violated, it’s important to contact your attorney.

The settlement was reached after a court-approved a class action lawsuit against Microsoft. The settlement is made available to consumers who purchased Microsoft business software through the volume licensing program. To claim the vouchers, customers must submit claims online and can do so until Sept. 23, 2021. The plaintiffs’ lawsuit was filed in Ontario and Quebec in 2005 but didn’t settle until May 2016. In October 2016, the case went to trial in Quebec and Ontario. The parties settled in mediation, and a nationwide class action settlement was reached on July 11, 2018.

The Microsoft class action lawsuit is about a conspiracy to raise the price of Microsoft products by preventing competition.

The company has opted to settle the case, but the company has not admitted any wrongdoing. The British Columbia Court approved the settlement in 2018 after the settlement was finalized in that province. The other provinces have yet to decide on the settlement, but the lawsuit has been a long time in the making.

The settlement in the lawsuit between Microsoft and the plaintiffs’ attorneys focuses on the company’s alleged gender discrimination. During the settlement, Microsoft agreed to pay all of the women’s claims. The lawyers are urging the company to settle the case. The case has the potential to cover a wide range of issues, including sexual harassment. It is important to note that the complaint filed in the Western District of Washington will be a representative of all Microsoft employees.

The complaint alleges that Microsoft has been selling its products in a way that inflated its prices.

The company is attempting to settle the lawsuit by denying liability and settling on a confidential basis. The class-action lawsuit focuses on three specific areas of Microsoft’s business practices. This includes the fact that consumers are entitled to more affordable versions of Microsoft’s products than they previously were. A company must not violate its privacy laws to do so.

The Microsoft class-action lawsuit is based on the fact that the company is violating Washington consumer protection and privacy laws. It also alleges that Microsoft has unjustly subsidized and promoted the sale of its products and that the company has used its dominant position to move into other markets. As a result, it has lowered the prices of its products, which may have contributed to this discrimination. This discrimination has led to a deterioration in the quality of the company’s products.

The Microsoft class-action lawsuit was originally filed in Canada but is now being brought in the United States.

The suit focuses on Microsoft’s allegedly anticompetitive practices and the fact that it failed to disclose the information to consumers in Canada. This is an important point to highlight. The company is denying any wrongdoing and will face litigation if the case is unsuccessful. A settlement with Microsoft would be a major victory for its customers, but it may also put the company at the forefront of the debate about how to deal with such issues in the future.

After the settlement in Canada, Microsoft has changed its policies regarding the class action lawsuit. The company no longer permits individuals to file a class-action lawsuit in the Western District of Washington. However, the change in policies and procedures has not yet been approved. As a result, the Microsoft class-action lawsuit is continuing in Canadian courts. Nevertheless, the court has ruled that the settlement is not the case. The judge has not yet made a final decision.

  1. I have a complaint against Microsoft and a lot of people, including attorneys, have told me that my complaint is a valid complaint, however no one has the guts to take the potential case to trial. I have a paid subscription for office 365, nonetheless, Microsoft has blocked my subscription. I am 81 years old, I live alone, my family is in France, and I am sick.

People should remember who was Rosa Park and how she won… I am being emotionally blackmailed by outlook. Microsoft keeps telling me it would be easier for me to create a new email rather that trying to recover my account. I have done that twice, yet, after sending 3 emails with the new email address I get blocked again because “I have sent too many emails and it would be easier to create a new email”. I realized that after creating the new email, microsoft is acquiring new information, increasing its contacts at no charge, and flooding the market with unwanted advertisements. I would like to write an article on how difficult Microsoft makes it to retrieve your account when they lock you out even though you answer correctly all of the questions they ask, even the very personal ones which no one else would know but you. Please take on the challenge because Microsoft/outlook is basically bullying the people and blackmailing you to create new email accounts and increase their potential sales and selling your information to outsiders. MY EMAIL IS BLOCKED DO NOT RESPOND VIA EMAIL.

    1. Thank you so much Anna for writing that. I feel exactly the same way. I bought Windows 11 in March 2022 and in November 2022 they pushed me out if Windows and forced me into MS 365 where I can no longer access Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, Publisher, etc. On my desktop unless I agree to purchase a subscription to MS 365. For items in my desktop I already own. I can’t access my personal files any longer either. And now my documents are pushed into the cloud without my consent. I’m unable to delete MS 365 and reinstall my Original Windows 11 Pro which I own outright. So Microsoft/Windows is double charging it’s customers basically, making them repurchase what they already own, and removing their private documents into the cloud, and making it impossible to access the tools already purchased since the forced update. I’d gladly come with you to speak to an attorney about a class action lawsuit. It has messed up all sorts of critical accesses I need to get work done. And no one is holding the company accountable for these issues they caused.

  2. Hacking Scam

I am looking for a law firm that is suing Microsoft for affiliate fraud. I was scammed by people posing as Microsoft technical support. I GOOGLED the 800 number and it came up as Microsoft, so I call that number, as my Microsoft account is active.

Can you please point me in the right direction?

  3. I would like to join a class action lawsuit against Microsoft for blacklisting me and my comments to online articles. They repeatedly shadow ban my comments or tag them with DELETE with trash can symbol.

  4. I knew it had to be can other states join. I lost so much revenue just bypassing and it popped back up. Its outrageous and they need to stop. I am dealing with so much and here they come getting me nervous and shit. I am unhoused, domestic violence victim, medical issues, car in the shop and it kept me confused. You know it would act as if it was google or duckduckgo. I am so tired up all night dealing with it. Couldn’t get any billing done. That is all I have right now too sick to go to the office or take new patients. Make them pay. They misled, lied, false something hell. Get them.

No one could get it off.

  5. MICROSOFT HAS GOTTEN SO. BIG THAT THEY THINK THEY CAN DO ANYTHING TO THE AMERICAN PUBLIC! MY LATEST UNDESIRED MS PRODUCT IS THEIR “ONE DRIVE”. ONCE IT FILLS THEY WANT YOU TO PURCHASE MORE DRIVE SPACE! NO YOU THEIVES! DIDN’T ASK FOR NO ONE WHEN I BOUGHT WIN 10 /11. I’D RATHER INSTALL AN ADDITIONAL DRIVE THAT I PURCHASE AND DECIDE WHAT I POPULATE IT WITH! MS SAYS YOU CAN DELETE THE DRIVE. BUT IT CREATES SO MANY UNWANTED LINKS TO IT’S ONE DRIVE, THAT YOU’LL BE TRYING TO RID YOURSELF OF THEIR NIGHTMARE FOR WEEKS, IF YOUR EVER SUCCESSFUL! I WANT TO SUE THESE IDIOTS IN WASHINGTON. AND YOU CAN’T JUST TRANSFER YOUR ONE DRIVE CONTENTS, IF IT’S IMPORTANT TO YOU, CAN ONLY BE DELETED IF YOU DON’T PAY FOR MORE DRIVE SPACE! IF THAT’S NOT HOLDING A GUN TO SOMEONE AND FORCING THEM TO SUBMIT TO YOUR WILL?
I DON’T KNOW WHAT IS. I’M WILLING TO SHARE MY DESIRE TO SUE THIS GIANT CORP, WITH ANYONE WHO’LL HELP ME WITH THE EXPENSES. NOT RICH! ONE OTHER THING I PURCHASED MS OFFICE 365 & STUDENT EDITION IN 2021 WITH A NEW NOTEBOOK! NOW MICROSOFT WANTS ME TO BUY A NEWER VERSION OF THE SAME SOFTWARE AND PAY THEM A MONTHLY INSTALLMENT FOR THE USE OF THE PRODUCT I ALREADY OWN. I TOLD THEM THEY COULD KISS MY BACKSIDE. WHAT IS GOING ON IN THIS COUNTRY THESE DAYS? GATES YOUR GOING TO ROT IN HELL FOR RIPPING OFF THE PUBLIC SO BADLY, SINCE WINDOWS 3.0 GOODNIGHT ALL

    1. Omg, I am angry at them too for exactly the same reasons. Why are they not being sued for this? If we own the programs out right, why do we need to purchase the MS365 subscription too in order to use the programs we already own or be locked out of them? It’s total highway robbery! For the love of God, I wish someone would take on a class action case against them. They are steeling money from good people who already own these items in a terrible economy where people are struggling to survive. But left with no choice but to subcome to their for ing us into it or we lose access to all our files we previously had full access too, bc we owned the programs outright. What they are doing should be considered cri my final bc they are taking huge advantage of hard working Americans.

  6. i had to refomat my pc 3 times thank ai crap it would not let the usb ports work right and it would not let me run agame and it would let me printer and it all said my video driver had a error and the sane with my printer and with lable printer and now i am resetting up my pc i want to sue microsoft and ai company for 3 millon

  7. I would like to be included in class action lawsuit as my comments to online articles have been deleted for years.

  8. I’m in Atlanta, Georgia. I’ve been chatting with Skype (a Microsoft division) all morning and afternoon to resolve a simple problem. I’ve had a subscription to Skype since July 13, 2023, for which I pay $19.92 quarterly, when formerly I was able to make calls and send SMS messages from Skype for free except for perhaps a few pennies for SMS. I just bought $25 credit from Skype (confirmed by them) and still can’t send SMS messages.

  9. I would like Microsoft to be in a class action suit over its unfair hardware requirements for Windows 11. I am a little different in that I have 3 Desktops and 3 laptops. None of these will pass the requirements for Windows 11. So, 6 perfectly good computers that will run out of Win 10 support in 2025. Oh, wait, Microsoft will continue support for Win 10 for 3 more years after Oct. 2025….at a cost. $61 for year one, double that for year 2 and double that for year 3. Talk about gouging the customer. And who knows what Windows 12 will bring? The rumor is it will not be free.
I suggested , in on line talks, that Microsoft create one OS for home users and one for power users and businesses. The home users would be able to use a standard Win 10 type of OS without AI, Pilot, and the rest of the tools that I, and others, would not use. They are forcing us to adhere to more expensive products that require new computer that the majority of us may not need or want.

  10. Hello, how do I find out if there are any class action lawsuits I can join for a problem with Microsoft Windows 11 deleting folders and files during one of their routine Windows upgrades? I believe this happened to me on April 3, 2024. I have found a lot of others online with the same situation. Thank you.

  11. I have purchased Microsoft Home using four users keep knocking them off for years and this year 2024 to top the cake, never works right crashing three times a day why am I paying them to send me hundreds of candy crushes? I want my money back.
